The Green Mountain State

We had never been to Vermont, and the kids had a week off for Spring Break. So that meant it was time to load up the conestoga, and head West!

The Itinerary

We had a couple of "must-sees" in mind: the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, the Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial, and Ben 'n Jerrys. Other than that, we wanted to get a nice view of the state, and, of course, do it in family style.

The Constraints

As things went, we left the trip until Thursday of the week. We had other plans for Saturday, so this turned into an overnighter. Still, Vermont accomodates itself very well to quick trips (that is, if you live close by). The state is fairly narrow, and I-89 is where the action is. If you're the type that likes to explore off the beaten path, there are many opportunities to do so, and they are all very close.

The only other constraint on this trip was budget. We wanted the entire trip to come in under $750. Here's how it went ...
